Abra Shirley – Illustrator
Abra Shirley grew up on a farm in northeast Kansas.
Abra, who hails from a farm in northeast Kansas, has always had a deep passion for art. This passion led her to pursue a career in the creative field. Over the years, her artistic abilities have matured through dedicated instruction and practice. The process of creating art brings her immense joy and satisfaction, surpassing even the pleasure of the final artwork. Inspired by Norman Rockwell’s approach, she incorporates real-life compositions captured through photography into her design process. Abra particularly enjoys working with traditional media, with Pastel being her favorite medium due to its tactile experience and the ability to layer intricate detail and color.
In addition to creating commissioned fine art, Abra takes delight in illustrating children’s books. She understands the power of illustrations to educate, entertain, and inspire young minds, a power that captivated her during her own childhood. In a world where convenience often trumps longevity, she finds solace in creating timeless art. Grateful for the opportunity to share her work with others, Abra hopes that her art may positively impact their lives, whether through education, inspiration or simply bringing them the joy it brings her.
